Cyber Security

As our society has moved from the age of machines to the age of information, the need to preserve the integrity and security of that information whilst using the “internet of things” has been overlooked by many. The media regularly contains articles regarding lapses in security of the Internet and Internet-based services – businesses are regularly compromised, IP is stolen, users are scammed. In contrast, the cyber security paradigm is so new that the security community has yet to agree on a stable definition of the term, let alone define the measures that will be required to implement a fully secure environment for all users.

This talk considers areas of the security paradigm ranging from UK government strategies that promote cyber security, to processes and policies we can implement in our businesses to enhance the integrity of our applications.
